Creative Arts Program
The objective of the Creative Arts program is to introduce our campers to a wide array of mediums and get them to understand the interrelationship between the arts. Campers can experience the joy of creativity through a process-centered approach. Our Creative Arts Program can be separated in to two categories: Performing Arts and Visual Arts. Both programs work in concert so that our campers can experience the many varied aspects of each.
Performing Arts Program:
The Performing Arts Program is comprised of Dance, Drama, and Music.
Experience dance in our studios with professional dance instructors directing all levels of jazz, modern, ballet, tap, and break dancing. With the instructors’ guidance, campers will also choreograph their own dances throughout the summer. The drama department produces talent shows, comedies, musicals, and dramas available to all campers to participate in. Music is also available to all campers, and we have many experienced guitarists, pianists, drummers, and other musical instructors at our disposal.
Visual Arts Program:
The Visual Arts Program includes Fine Art, Crafts, Jewelry making, Ceramics, Needlework, Woodshop, Photography, Video, and Radio. We encourage campers to try as many visual arts mediums as possible. The Fine Arts Center provides a forum for campers to develop projects through integrated programming and wonderful instruction. Campers can look forward to painting canvas, pastels, charcoal, watercolor, crafting, printing, tie dying, batik, candle making, enameling, beading, needlepoint, sewing, mosaic tile, silkscreen, and weaving lanyard and hemp. At Kweebec, the Fine Arts staff is ready to help you express yourself in so many different and exciting ways.
